The cowboy is iconic image of the American West due in large part to the depictions of cattle drives in film and fiction. Dating back to 1500s, cattle drives has been an efficient yet grueling way of moving cattle to market or grass.
I was able to ride along on a drive this week in the cold Colorado winter to move 140 head of cattle 8 miles of their 16 mile journey to their new home on the Harman Ranch.
